Frequently Asked Questions

How does therapy work?

I offer a free 15-minute consultation to get to know each other and what I offer. If you decide to go ahead, we will then book a full assessment session.

This assessment can help us think through the different things that may have brought you to therapy. We will then start to make sense of how things may be feeling stuck at the moment and create therapy goals for how you want to move forward. In the coming sessions we create and start to follow your tailored treatment plan drawing on the principles of the different therapies I offer.

The therapeutic relationship is so important so I always schedule regular reviews to make sure we are on the right track for you.

How much does therapy cost?

If you decide to go ahead following the free consultation my fees are:

  • Initial assessment (50minutes): £90

  • Therapy session (50minutes) £90

  • EMDR processing session (90minutes): £135

What happens if I cancel a session?

Life can be busy so I always try to be flexible and rearrange if you cancel an appointment in advance (at least 48hours).

For self funding and insurance clients, if you cancel within 48 hours, the session will be charged at full rate of a session, as with late notice it is not possible for me to rebook the slot. The cancellation rate would need to be paid in order to continue with the sessions.

How do I pay for sessions?

Once we have booked your regular slot, payment is to be made via bank transfer (BACS) 48hours before the appointment date. Payment details are provided in a therapy agreement which is shared prior to your first session.

Payment is to be made 48 hours before the appointment is due. If payment is not received, then it will be assumed the appointment will not be going ahead.

How do I attend the appointment?

I currently offer the majority of my appointments remotely via online video software. There is a lot of emerging evidence that therapy delivered online can be just as effective as face-to-face. In my experience, my clients often report remote appointments are convenient and can fit easily into daily life.
